1. Agreement and eligibility
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the Roamleaf iPhone and Apple Watch applications, website, and related services (together, the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age required in your country, and legally able to enter into these Terms. If you use the Service for an organization, you represent that you may bind that organization.
2. The Service
Roamleaf can organize authorized media, create travel-memory drafts, display place history, prepare travel books and videos, assist with photo compression and deletion, record outdoor routes, and synchronize eligible content. Features vary by device, operating system, location, permissions, connectivity, and service availability.
Roamleaf is not a navigation, emergency, medical, or professional fitness service. It must not be your sole source for route safety, altitude, speed, direction, weather, or emergency decisions.
3. License and ownership
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service on Apple-branded products you own or control as permitted by the App Store usage rules.
Roamleaf’s software, brand, interface, and original materials are owned by us or our licensors. These Terms do not transfer that ownership. You may not copy, sell, lease, reverse engineer, circumvent security, or create derivative services from protected portions of Roamleaf except where applicable law expressly permits it.
4. Your content
You retain ownership of photos, videos, notes, routes, and other content you provide. You grant us a limited permission to process content only as needed to operate the features you request, maintain security, and comply with law. This permission ends when the content is no longer needed for those purposes, subject to necessary backups and legal obligations.
You are responsible for having the rights and permissions needed for content you process, including images of other people and copyrighted material. Do not use Roamleaf to infringe privacy, intellectual-property, publicity, or other rights.
5. AI-assisted features
AI features may create suggestions, captions, groupings, or story drafts based on limited inputs you approve. AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete, repetitive, or inappropriate. You must review factual statements and sharing-ready material before relying on or publishing it.
You direct whether a cloud AI request is made. Do not submit highly sensitive or unlawful content. Availability, limits, and model providers may change as we improve the Service. Your edits and explicit selections remain your responsibility.
6. Photo compression and deletion
Compression changes image or video data and can reduce quality, metadata, compatibility, or edit history. Review verified copies before deleting originals and keep independent backups for irreplaceable media. Deletion is performed through Apple Photos after confirmation and may be reversible for a limited period through Recently Deleted.
Storage savings are estimates until Photos and the operating system complete their own processing. We are not responsible for loss caused by device failure, expired Recently Deleted retention, insufficient backups, or deletion you confirm.
7. Outdoor and sensor safety
GPS, compass, pressure, altitude, speed, distance, and map results can be delayed or inaccurate because of signal conditions, device orientation, magnetic interference, sensor limitations, battery state, or software errors. Recorded gaps are not proof that an area was or was not visited.
Stay aware of your surroundings. Follow signs, closures, local laws, land-access rules, and advice from qualified authorities. Call local emergency services when needed. Do not operate the app while driving or in any situation where device use would be unsafe.
8. Acceptable use
You may not use the Service to break the law, harm or stalk people, collect locations without authorization, distribute malware, overload or probe our systems, evade access controls, misrepresent AI output as verified fact, or interfere with another person’s use of the Service. We may restrict access when reasonably necessary to protect users, the Service, or legal rights.
9. Third-party services
Roamleaf may rely on Apple services such as Photos, Maps, HealthKit, CloudKit, and App Store distribution, plus optional AI and infrastructure providers. Their terms and availability also apply to their services. We do not control third-party outages, policy changes, map content, model behavior, or account decisions.
10. Disclaimers and liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, uninterrupted operation, and error-free output.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, loss of data or memories, lost profits, or personal injury arising from reliance on location or sensor information. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded or limits mandatory consumer rights.
11. Suspension, termination, and changes
You may stop using Roamleaf at any time. We may suspend or end access to online portions of the Service for material violations, security threats, legal requirements, or discontinuation. On-device content remains subject to the controls available on your device.
We may update the Service and these Terms. If a change materially affects your rights, we will provide notice where required. Continued use after an effective update means you accept the revised Terms, unless applicable law provides otherwise.
12. Applicable law
Applicable law, courts, and dispute rights depend on mandatory rules tied to your residence and the operator’s place of establishment. These Terms do not remove rights that cannot be waived under local consumer law. Before filing a formal claim, please contact us so we can try to resolve the issue.
13. Apple-specific terms
These Terms are between you and Roamleaf, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the Service or its support. If the app fails to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple for any refund of the purchase price available under App Store rules; Apple has no other warranty obligation to the extent permitted by law. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce the Apple-related provisions.
